I had the opportunity to showcase my work in my own studio at the Santiago Art Walk this Saturday and I had such an amazing time.  Most of my friends who have visited my studio can attest that it literally transformed from a dirty old storage room to a clean and sleak studio space.  I absolutely could not have done this without my amazing husband’s help.

He joked around saying that he was my slave for the past month and I couldn’t argue with that.  He built the shelving, installed the lights and helped me in designing every last detail in the room.  Thanks Bernie!

My sister in law was the first person to come and she pretty much kept me company most of the night.

Here I am getting my station ready so that people can see how the magic happens with the clay.

I met a lot of amazing people that night, especially some wonderful neighbors who either came around to show support and some other talented artists as well.

I’m already looking forward to the art walk in May.  I’m going to be working hard to get some more new pieces ready by then.  Definitely come by the studio next month if you haven’t had a chance to come by!

It’s been busy these days trying to get my studio ready, but I squeaked in some time to finish an order for a dear friend of mine who’s getting married at the end of the month. I’ve been experimenting with making cymbidium orchids and this is actually the first time making a cake topper.

It was difficult to get the detail right on the lip of the orchid, but after a lot of trial and error I’m really happy with the final results.

I’ll be posting pictures soon of the Santiago Art Walk where I met a ton of great people and neighbors, too.  Stay tuned…
